Four Futures
One question, four directions, all of them buildable — and none of them commissioned
The situation
An architecture studio's website is the one piece of work it cannot show you a drawing of. So here is one question — what should this studio's site be — answered four different ways, with all four built far enough to click through.
What actually happens
- You read the question the way the studio would have asked it.
- You see four directions, each taken far enough to click through.
- Each one says what it is trading away to get what it is going for.
- You decide which one you would have picked.
Where it stops
Nobody commissioned these. The honesty rules the write-up was made under bar invented social proof in those words — no testimonials, no client quotes, nothing implying the studio adopted any of it.
