Funeral Aftercare Compass

Today, this week, month one — and the column telling you what to leave alone.

The situation

Someone has died, the funeral home has handed you a folder, and there are forty things to do in an order nobody has told you. Half of them are not urgent and one of them is.

What actually happens

  1. You say who died, roughly when, and what has been arranged so far.
  2. It sorts what is in front of you into today, this week, and month one.
  3. It gives you a fourth column: what to leave alone for now.
  4. You do the first thing on the first list.

Where it stops

Legal questions get turned down, in words its rules write out for it in advance. It points you at what needs sorting and who to ask, and stops at the line.
