Your Side of the Table
Prep for the conversation where you say your number. Rule 0: nothing it writes is addressed to your client.
The situation
There is a conversation where you have to say your number out loud, and the person across the table has heard the pitch before. The 2024 practice changes made that conversation compulsory and nobody has had much practice at it.
What actually happens
- You tell it which of the five conversations is coming up.
- It asks what you have already agreed with this person, and what you have not.
- You get prep for you — what you are asking for, why, and where you can move.
- You take it into the room and say it in your own words.
Where it stops
Rule 0 in its rules is about whose mouth the words come out of. Nothing it writes is addressed to your client — it prepares you, and you do the talking.
